Need help connecting a satellite receiver, DVD player and PS3 to HDTV?

Need help trying to connect my TV HD subjects below. I'd like to get surround sound working at all. Whereas now they have connected the 3 wires connected HDMI to each device. HDTV DVD player, receiver saltellite to HDTV, and PS3 to HDTV. One of the problems I have already encountered when turning the DVD player sound is interrupted high definition television when Im watching satellite TV. When you clear DVD, the sound comes again. Havent even touched the PS3 yet. Can anyone help me with this or tell me what I am doing wrong.
